Lights, Camera, Creation!: The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is an exciting annual video contest in which student filmmakers make short movies that creatively tell the entire stories of Newbery-winning books. Making the film is a fun and creative 21st century educational exercise and incorporates elements of literacy and language arts. Kids cooperatively adapt, storyboard, produce, direct, act, film and edit their movies. Festival founder and author, James Kennedy, shows Minnesota entries alongside national entries, and honors student filmmakers at a screening each winter. Learn more about this project and how you can incorporate it into your curriculum. More information can be found at 90secondnewbery.com.
